As proprietors of stud dogs, the meticulous selection of dam owners who espouse akin breeding principles and objectives stands as a critical facet in upholding the credibility of our breeding program. This necessitates a thorough evaluation of the intentions and methodologies of potential breeding collaborators to ascertain concurrence with preservation objectives as opposed to purely monetary incentives. It entails distinguishing between preservation breeders and individuals involved in alternative breeding approaches. As preservation breeders, our emphasis lies in according precedence to the conformation compatibility, health, and lineage of prospective partners with the aim of preservation, rather than financial gain. Conversely, breeders with disparate objectives adhere to distinct practices and motives, and it is imperative for us to preclude the exploitation of our established breeding lines. Thus, it is paramount for us to judiciously select breeding partners to ensure the existence of shared breeding principles and objectives, all serving to perpetuate the sanctity of our pedigrees.

Join the Excitement: Our Winter 2026 Waitlist Is Now Open!

5/27/2026

Exciting updates about our upcoming Winter 2026 litter are on the way.
Picture
There are so many different factors that go into breeding. The main goal is to improve the breed through intentional and purposeful breeding by matching the strengths and weaknesses of the Dam and Sire. One factor is genetic and health screening. While most of the former are probability markers and not definitive diagnoses, genetic and health screening give us additional tools to make thoughtful decisions and gradually improve the overall soundness of our lines for generations to come.

Looking ahead to our Winter 2026 breeding season, our planned litter will be the culmination of our thoughtfully executed line breeding between Ada and Lee. With this pairing, we honor the foundation laid by those before us and look forward to carrying our lines forward with the qualities that define our breed.

Our beautiful brindle Ada arrived from Portugal at 14 months of age, already titled as Portugal’s #1 Junior Champion, qualified for Crufts 2025, crowned Junior Lisboa Winner 2024 and Puppy CPC Winner 2023, and honored with a Best in Show Young Promise award.

Our handsome Bred-By brindle Lee has distinguished himself by finishing his Championship from the American Bred Class with limited showing. He earned Best of Opposite Sex and Best of Opposite Winner over a notable group of Champions, including a nationally ranked Top Ten Special. Additionally, he was the FBDCA Designated Speciality Best of Opposite Winner in Sweepstakes at the 2022 Winter Wonderland Cluster in Perry, Georgia, hosted by the French Bulldog Club of Georgia.

Through Ada and Lee, we look forward to moving our lines forward to the yesteryears, honoring the timeless qualities and foundation laid by those before us.

Exciting Update: Eastham’s Open French Bulldogs Renews AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Membership!

5/26/2026

We’re happy to share that Eastham’s Open French Bulldogs has successfully renewed our membership in the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Program through May 2027. This continued recognition reflects our ongoing dedication to ethical breeding, breed health, and our commitment to
“Companionship at its best.”
Picture
What does continuing in the Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Program mean?

The Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Program is an American Kennel Club initiative that holds breeders to a specific, ongoing standard across five commitments — Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility, and Tradition. To renew, we certified that our breeding stock has completed all recommended health testing for French Bulldogs, completed our annual AKC-approved continuing education courses, and reaffirmed our compliance with AKC's Care and Conditions Policy — including agreeing to kennel inspections and full accountability for the puppies we produce.

Renewing this membership isn't automatic — it requires active participation every year. It is one more way we live out our promise of
"Companionship at its best."

We're so proud of how she held her own in such a stacked lineup—placing over some truly gorgeous Frenchies.

While we didn't find the points this time, the "ringside wins" were plenty. We received many kind words about our beautiful linebred girl from breeders in attendance. In this community, there is no higher honor than the respect of your peers; those compliments mean everything and confirm we are on the right track.

Kennedy is major pointed and 1/3 of the way to her Championship!
A heartfelt thank you to the judges for appreciating her quality all week. We are also deeply grateful to our dear friend Debra Zook Mattingly—thank you for getting her there safely, for your beautiful presentation, and for loving Kennedy as your own. She clearly had the time of her life!

She was entered in three shows, but severe weather kept the team from the first lineup. That didn’t slow her down one bit—she hit the ring for the remaining two and went 2-for-2!

Our beautifully linebred youngster shined from the 6–9 Month Puppy Class:
Winners Bitch under Mrs. Debbie Campbell-Freeman (Danville Illinois Kennel Club)

Winners Bitch and her first MAJOR under Mrs. Sherry Patton (Hoosier Kennel Club)

With this major, Kennedy is now more than one-third of the way to her Championship—the title is in sight!

Sired by our bred-by CH Eastham’s Open The Big Show, CHIC #197699 (Mafi).
Our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Debbie Campbell-Freeman and Mrs. Sherry Patton for recognizing and appreciating our girl in strong competition.
We’re also deeply grateful to our dear friend Debra Zook Mattingly—thank you for getting her there safely, for your beautiful presentation, and for loving Kennedy as your own. Knowing she’s having the time of her life with you makes these wins even sweeter.

And finally, thank you to the club members and volunteers for braving the weather—and to my husband and son for their unwavering support at home!

Eyes on Excellence: Puppy Wellness, Atlanta Adventures & OFA CAER Success

8/20/2025

Last week, our Mafi x Ada litter had their biggest day yet—a city trip that tested not only their health but all the hands-on work our family has put in since their very first days.

We braved Atlanta’s legendary traffic first thing in the morning, heading off for a full schedule of eight-week wellness checks at Westside Village Animal Hospital and OFA Companion Animal Eye Registry (CAER) exams at BluePearl Pet Hospital – Johns Creek. The girls handled the long car rides, new environments, and stacked appointments like seasoned travelers—honestly, better than their humans! (No shame: we wanted to cry the last 20 minutes on the way home—it was such a long day!)

Our results were worth every mile. At their wellness exams with Ana Adams, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACT, each puppy received a glowing report: healthy, bright and alert temperament, body conditions and weights right on track, normal heart and fecal screenings, and their first puppy shots.
The afternoon was devoted to eye exams with Dr. Ellen Belknap, DVM, MS, DACVIM (LAIM), DACVO, where every puppy—now a third generation in their line to be OFA eye tested—passed with flying colors.

We credit their calm, confident attitudes to all the early crate training, car rides, gentle hands-on handling, exposure to different sounds, and careful socialization that me and my family provide each day. These experiences really do make for puppies who can adapt to anything.

If you’re curious about the CAER process, you don’t have to wait for breeder clinics—find a certified veterinary ophthalmologist at www.acvo.org, and learn more about inherited eye disease screening at www.ofa.org.

We couldn’t be prouder of these sound, healthy, and happy Frenchies—ready for whatever adventure comes next!
